Trump Declares Full Closure of Venezuelan Airspace

In a recent social media announcement, former U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the airspace above and surrounding Venezuela is to be completely closed. The declaration was made on Saturday via his Truth Social platform.

Addressing a broad audience, Trump's post read: "To all Airlines, Pilots, Drug Dealers, and Human Traffickers, please consider THE AIRSPACE ABOVE AND SURROUNDING VENEZUELA TO BE CLOSED IN ITS ENTIRETY."

This statement follows a warning issued last week by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The regulator alerted major airlines to a "potentially hazardous situation" for flights over Venezuela, citing a "worsening security situation and heightened military activity" in the region.

In a related development, Venezuelan authorities revoked the operating rights for six major international airlines. These carriers had previously suspended their services to the country in response to the FAA's initial safety advisory.
