Yemen separatists launch operation in Abyan

Yemen's primary secessionist faction, the Southern Transitional Council (STC), announced it has initiated a military operation in the southern province of Abyan.

The move comes as the STC, which seeks independence for southern Yemen, has recently asserted it holds broad control over territories in the country's south amid Yemen's complex, multi-sided conflict.
