Kuwait is set to sign a major $3.97 billion contract with China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) next week to complete the first phase of the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project. The deal, approved by Kuwait’s tender agency on December 1, will be finalized at a ceremony attended by the Kuwaiti Prime Minister.
The contract covers the engineering, procurement, and construction work for the strategic port located on Bubiyan Island. Kuwait views the project as a cornerstone for economic diversification and a revival of its regional commercial standing.
