A strike at Brazil's Petrobras has spread to refineries and offshore oil platforms, according to the FUP union, though the state-run firm reports no impact on production so far. The company said it has contingency measures in place to ensure operational continuity and a guaranteed market supply, with labor talks continuing.
The union claims strong employee support for the stoppage, forcing Petrobras to adopt contingency plans at six refineries. Workers on 14 platforms in the Campos Basin and two in Espírito Santo state have also joined the action. The dispute centers on issues including a pension fund deficit and proposed changes to employee compensation.
